When you are a Digital Nomad looking for a Coliving space, it can be hard to separate the good from the bad. Which Coliving spaces in Europe are the most popular? And why? We, from Nine Coliving Tenerife, are excited to give a shout out to a few of our best colleagues in Europe.

La Orotava, Tenerife

Nine Coliving - It makes sense to start with ourselves, Nine Coliving in Tenerife. What have we been doing well and what makes people come back? In the last 3 years we had the opportunity to talk with many Digital Nomads to find out what makes guests like or don’t like a Coliving space.

For Nine it turns out it is ‘the feeling of home’. We are proud we have been able to grow a community of like-minded Digital Nomads that find each other at Nine. Beautiful connections and friendships are the result. Other than that, guests are amazed with the beautiful building Nine is in and the many common spaces we have to work, chill or connect with others. Last but not least, let’s not forget we are based on an awesome island with lots to offer, from mountains and volcanos to beaches, surf and a great local culture.

Javea, Spain

Sun and Co - We consider Sun and Co our older brother, since Sun and Co in mainland Spain has been successful since way before we even started. The reason that we consider them our family though, is because it seems that Sun and Co and Nine give guests a very similar experience. The real feeling of home and a family, that’s what Sun and Co is known for. And that’s why many people keep going back. Based on the east coast of Spain, Sun and Co offers life in a real Spanish town, the ocean and lots of access to nature.

Sun and Co is focused on professional and personal development and they take this very seriously. With a weekly meeting, many skill shares and goal setting, guests get the opportunity to really dive into there work or personal projects. Another feature we keep hearing about, is the amazing community kitchen with lots of space to enjoy cooking together.

Sun and Co closes its doors as a Coliving during the summer, to turn into a popular hostel, but the rest of the year we definitely recommend you to pay them a visit.

SunDesk - The other Coliving space not far from Europe that E-VE-RY-ONE seems to go to, is SunDesk in Morocco. Still close enough to Europe, but with amazing weather all year round and a totally different culture to immerse yourself into. SunDesk if based in the little surfer town Taghazout, right on the beach. The combination of surf, good weather and the culture seems to be the reasons for people to go to SunDesk.

Other than that there is the traditional Moroccan house with views over the ocean. We hear Digital Nomads rave about the friendly staff and the great food that is served for lunch at SunDesk. All things that seem to make the perfect combination for people to keep coming back.

Sende - Sende is one of the first rural Colivings in Europe based in a tiny village in the Galician mountains in Spain. This Coliving focuses on the digital nomad community as much as on integration with the local community.

If you really want to disconnect, go back to the basics and do so while joining an inspiring community, Sende is the place for you.

They are now also opening a location in Portugal, so keep your eyes open for that too!

The Roof - The roof is based in one of the Digital Nomad hubs of Europe, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This city is a paradise for Digital Nomads and Expats that love the combination of city life and the beach. The roof is based in the Ciudad Jardin neighbourhood in between the beautiful historical city centre and the popular beach Las Canteras.

The Roof offers Digital Nomads a modern and spacious Coliving with an amazing rooftop. The Roof is part of Coworking space CWC. As a guest of the roof you get to use the Coworking space and fully immerse yourself in the Digital Nomad community in Las Palmas.

Cloud Citadel - This Coliving recently opened, but we already heard great stories about the place. Based in the highest town of Europe and in the middle of the French Alps, this is the place to be for Mountain loving Digital Nomads. With amazing hikes and snow activities, Digital Nomads can enjoy nature all year around.

We hear that the house is beautiful remodelled and decorated by the couple that owns the place. It is homy, with a spacious workspace and cosy living room. The perfect place to work or chill after a long day outdoors.

Swiss Escape - This Coliving Space gives you the opportunity to stay in an actual chalet in the middle of a ski resort in the Swiss Alps. Its location gives you direct access to ski lifts and all the nature surrounding the Coliving Space. Another true paradise for mountain lovers and winter adorers.

I personally know the owners of Swiss Escape and absolutely adore them. Fully immersed in the Coliving world, they know exactly what Digital Nomads need and have managed to bring that to their space. Besides the beautiful nature and a good workspace, they understand how to build a community and the importance of this.

Anceu - If Sun and Co is our big brother, Anceu Coliving might be our little sister. This Coliving Space in the North of Spain was about to open its doors in May 2020 when Corona hit.

Instead, the owner and his family spend those months remodelling and perfecting the beautiful old farm. With lots of outdoor space and even a swimming pool, this Coliving Space has all the common spaces to really form a community. Secluded from the busy world, Anceu offers Digital Nomads the experience of local life in a Spanish village. A place to come back to our base and focus on what’s really important to us.

After spending a week at Anceu when they first opened, we know that you will love it too! The place is beautiful, with lots of space, a swimming pool and nature all around. Because the Coliving is quite rural, the community is very strong and Agustin does a great job of offering guests activities at the Coliving or around.

Chateau Coliving - Last but definitely not least, is Chateau Coliving in France. This amazingly unique space is founded by our personal friends Katia and Emmanuel that lived and worked at Nine for a year in 2019. After staying at Nine for a year, the couple decided to transform their B&B into a Coliving for Digital Nomads and Remote Workers and we are so happy they did!

The Chateau offers everything a Coliving needs to offer, from a beautiful workspace, lots of common areas and a great community. But, apart from that, you get the chance to live in an actual castle with all its history. I got to spend a month at Chateau Coliving in 2021 and can tell you that it is the perfect place to focus and and enjoy an unique experience.
