What is your background and why did you decide to become a digital nomad?

I used to work for a Fortune 50 corporate company for 8 consecutive years. I then started to travel for vacation and loved it so much that I started seeking job opportunities to allow me to travel more. My first travel experience that made me fall in love with exploring other cultures was the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, I was an intern with NBC Universal and got to experience China for one full month. In 2017, I quit my job and took the leap of faith to travel the world.

How long have you been working remote and what are you currently working on?

I have been working remotely now for 2 years. I am working on my third album of poetry and song and I also work for an online boot camp company to help prospective students accelerate their tech careers.

Why do you think Tenerife and the Canary island is a good destination for digital nomads?

Tenerife and the Canary Islands is a perfect location for digital nomads because it's quiet, safe, beautiful weather, the locals are kind and there's so much to do. It's the perfect environment to be productive and create, but also to enjoy. You can get your work done during the week and then hike a volcano, go surfing on a black sand beach and paraglide all in one weekend. Also the cost of living is conducive to the digital nomad lifestyle and budget.

What is your favorite thing about Nine Coliving?

My favorite thing about Nine Coliving was the camaraderie. Never having to eat alone. Group yoga sessions in the morning, weekly community dinners and Sunday BBQ's. And last but not least, Lara. I love dogs and she was a big reason why I booked with Nine, she's very friendly and fun to have around. I haven't even left yet and I'm already planning my next trip back!
