Nine is a community for coliving and coworking on the beautiful island of Tenerife, Spain. During their stay, we ask our Digital Nomads to share their stories.

What is your background and why did you decide to become a digital nomad?

Hi, I’m Fabian. I come from Berlin and have a background in digital marketing. I have mostly been working from different coworking spaces in Berlin over the last year, but then I finally realised that it would make more sense to discover the world and meet new people while working remotely. So I googled for coworking spaces in Tenerife and that’s how I found out about coliving spaces and thought that Nine Coliving seemed like a great fit.

How long have you been working remote and what are you currently working on?

This is the first time that I have been working remote. But now I definitely want to do this more often! Last year, I created a startup that is aiming to provide affordable online education to people all over the world. Since the entire project can be done 100% online, it soon became clear that combining travel and work would make more sense than staying in one city all the time.

Why do you think Tenerife and the Canary island is a good destination for digital nomads?

The weather here is fantastic - especially if you want to escape that harsh European winter. I also love the fact that there are so many amazing hiking trails here. I’ve got the feeling that people on Tenerife are really laid back and always happy to help. It’s the perfect place to have adventures, enjoy the sun, and still get a lot of work done.

What is your favorite thing about Nine Coliving?

I don’t even know where to start. The community here is great. You feel that this is not only a place to work, but also a place to meet great people and discover the island together. The coliving-building is fascinating (rooftop terrace) and the location of Nine is spot-on. I also attended my first Yoga classes here. Last but not least Nine is run by friendly and helpful people. Oh yeah, and WiFi is fast!
